The Ombudsman has presented her report for 2020 in the Milli Majlis
The report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the protection of human rights in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020 was submitted to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 25, 2021, and on April 2, the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva presented this report in the Milli Majlis.
The Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva first visited the grave of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who played a special role in the establishment of the Ombudsman's Office, in the Alley of Honors and paid tribute to his memory. The memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated, and flowers were laid at her grave. Then, the Ombudsman visited the Alley of Martyrs and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
During the Ombudsman's speech in the Milli Majlis, the situation in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms, ensuring human rights during the pandemic and war was analyzed, and information was provided on the activities aimed at restoring the violated rights during the year.
The Ombudsman made a number of proposals and recommendations in the report on the effective protection of human rights and freedoms.
