Upon the instruction of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Ombudsman’s National Preventive Group (NPG) conducted planned monitoring in Social-service facility No 1 for children with disabilities under the Ministry of Labour and Social protection of Population.
The aim of the visit was to investigate living conditions of children, treatment issues and the state of ensuring their rights.
During the visit with participation of NPG members and physician involved as an expert, all objects, including bedrooms, class and rehabilitation rooms, canteen and kitchen, painting, music rooms and gym were monitored.
In order to investigate treatment issues, children, administration of the facility, children, tutors and medical staff were met and talked.
It was concluded that the facility meets the modern standards, living condition, nutrition, food supply, medical service and the state of ensuring other rights were evaluated as satisfactory.
The administration of the facility was given necessary recommendations for further improvements.
