Cooperation with the Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan:
The Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan has been cooperating with the IOI since 2003 and has been an institutional member of this organization since December 2010.
During these years, the Ombudsman has regularly participated in international events organized by the IOI and informed the international community about the reforms and good practices in the field of human rights protection. While delivering a speech at various international conferences, the Ombudsman also provided information about human rights violations that occurred as a result of aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan.
The IOI representatives participated in the international events held at the initiative of the Azerbaijan Ombudsman Institution and carried out mutual exchange of experiences and knowledge. At the same time, as part of the discussions held within the IOI events, the practice of Azerbaijan was shared on the topics such as human rights protection, migrants’ rights, and prevention of torture.
