invites young people with higher education to volunteer
In the State Program "Youth of Azerbaijan in 2017-2021" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 15, 2017 No. 3236 and in the speech of the head of state at the republican meeting dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day on February 1, 2019 to use their potential more effectively, to create conditions for the active participation of young people in all areas of society, to inculcate professional habits and increase their practical knowledge, to support the discovery of their creative and innovative potential, and to develop the volunteer movement in the country.
For this purpose, the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, taking into account the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Voluntary Activities", has started to apply volunteering activities among young people in the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan reminds that volunteer activity is considered a socially useful and unprofitable activity related to the performance of work or the provision of services, which is not prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Voluntary activities in the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan are mainly organized in the following directions:
· Experience in departments and sectors of the apparatus;
· Familiarize with the national legislative framework and international legal acts in the field of human rights, as well as legal literature in the library;
· To participate in the process of reviewing applications received by the commissioner;
· To participate directly in the reception of applicants;
· To become familiar with the mechanism of protection of human rights and freedoms established in the Constitution of the country through the study of applications and complaints;
· To get acquainted with the requests sent to the state and local self-government bodies and officials in connection with the appeals received at the commissioner's address;
· To familiarize with the requests sent by the Commissioner to the Constitutional Court;
· To get acquainted with the activities of the Commissioner in the field of protection and promotion of the rights of various social groups of the population (children, persons with disabilities, women, the elderly, refugees, internally displaced persons and migrants, military personnel, detained persons and convicts);
· To get acquainted with the activities of the Commissioner in the field of legal education, scientific-analytical, information and international relations;
· To get acquainted with proposals prepared in the Office of the Ombudsman regarding the improvement of the legislation in terms of ensuring human rights;
· To get acquainted with the commissioner's annual reports;
· To get acquainted with the activities of the Commissioner in the field of implementation of the functions of the national preventive mechanism against torture;
· Provide assistance to employees in the performance of duties in the field of activity;
Volunteer activity is planned for 2 months.
Each of the young people who worked as a volunteer for 2 months and successfully completed their contractual obligations will be given special certificates by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which will be an opportunity for a successful transition to their work.
