The joint project of the Ombudsman Office and UN OHCHR is being implemented

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees have been cooperating on combating violence since 2016. The project on Empowerment of Women in the Displacement Situations continued in this year as well covers 4 regions. In the first phase of the project organizational work was done, publications were prepared. In the second phase it is planned to conduct training in IDPs communities by national experts.

On 28 April 2017 trainings was held for increasing the capacities and skill of these trainers.

Turan Jahangirova, head of Unit for protection of the rights of migrants, IDPs and refugees in her speech focused on the awareness raising events held by the Ombudsman in the capital and in regions in this regard. She also informed participants about formation of equal rights system in the society, additions and amendments made to the legislation, as well as guidelines how to appeal in case of violence etc.
