The representative of the Ombudsman participated in the meeting held within the framework of state monitoring in the field of rights of persons with disabilities

Another meeting was held within the framework of the implementation of state monitoring in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities at the Agency for Sustainable and Operative Social Provision under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

Speaking at the event, the head of the legal education sector of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mugalib Mahmudov, informed the participants about the work done by the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva in the direction of protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities in the recent period and the upcoming tasks.

He also noted that among the obligations reflected in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to which our state has consented to be bound, to create equal opportunities for persons with disabilities, ensure reasonable adaptation, inclusiveness, and accessibility, promote the use of universal design, the inadmissibility of discrimination on disability and other issues occupy one of the important places.

At the meeting, within the framework of the implementation of state monitoring in the field of the rights of persons with disabilities, discussions were held on the topics of "Possibilities of accessibility and inclusion in the education system" and "The available opportunities and difficulties for the comprehensive development of children with disabilities, to realize their talents, knowledge, and skills."
