Ombudsman received the Representatives of the World Bank

Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva held a meeting with Eva Maria Melis, Senior Governance Specialist, and Waleed Malik, Senior Public Sector Specialist, and other representatives of the World Bank.

Greeting the guests, the Ombudsman elaborated on main activity directions, and cooperation with the state and local self-governing authorities, and public and international institutions. It was given broad information on the protection of the rights of vulnerable population groups, independent monitoring mechanisms, and activities in the field of business and human rights of the Ombudsman.

During the meeting, the Ombudsman’s activity in the liberated areas and work in the field of restoration of family links with the missing people.

Further, implementation of electronic documentation turnover, constructing a technical base with modern requirements in the Ombudsman Office and its Regional Centers, future perspectives of the World Bank “Doing Business” and “Free Legal Aid” Projects in Azerbaijan between the two institutions, organization of “business and human rights” awareness-raising and promotional activities, and cooperation in preparing printing materials were discussed and two focal persons of both institutions were appointed.
