Martyr Families and War Veterans Affairs Unit was established at the Ombudsman Office

Martyr Families and War Veterans Affairs Unit was established at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This newly created Unit will deal promptly with the applications concerning the issues related to servicemen killed, missing, or wounded for the sake of the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan filed by martyrs’ family members, war veterans.

The Unit will also contribute to the solution of concerns raised by the families of martyrs and war veterans, social integration, and other rights of war-related persons along with the systematization of incoming appeals.

At the same time, a psychological support project was initiated by the Ombudsman addressed to the persons who suffered during the first days of the Patriotic War, and the new Unit will systematically continue this work.
