Information of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan

As reported earlier, the Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan, Ms. Sabina Aliyeva immediately undertook an investigation into information on the basis of a parent's request regarding the abduction of a minor girl disseminated on social media. The Ombudsman, in person, had a phone contact with the teenager.

Upon the Ombudsman’s instructions, the staff of the Ganja Regional Center carried out an on-site investigation, visited both families, and interviewed the teenage girl. Consequently, the teenager has been directed to social rehabilitation and psychological services in Baku and the situation of ensuring her rights are taken under control.

It should be noted that similar cases of social and moral-psychological nature necessitate the support of each of us.  

The Ombudsman thanks all, citizens, state bodies and civil society for the support of defending the interests of the teenage girl.
