Recently, Sheki city school #10 named after R. Afandiyev, one of the first schools hosting peer-to-peer Child Rights Education program jointly implemented by the Ombudsman institution and the Ministry of Education, has organized a virtual “Last bell” ceremony. The director of Sheki City Education Department, representative of Sheki City Executive Authority, also a staff member of the Sheki Regional Center of the Ombudsman, Elman Imamverdiyev took part at the online event along with the staff of the school.
E. Imamverdiyev congratulated and conveyed warm wishes to the participants on behalf of the Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva with respect to June 15, National Salvation Day and the graduation day and noted that June 18 is celebrated as Human Rights Day according to the Presidential Order dated June 18, 2007. He also added that May 18-June 18 was declared Human Rights Month-long Campaign at the initiative of the Ombudsman during which a range of online events regarding human rights is being hosted all over the country by state bodies, central and local executive authorities, educational-scientific organizations, civil society organizations, including NGOs and mass media.
The representative of the Ombudsman’s Regional Center stated that the issues of child rights protection is under constant focus of attention of the Ombudsman. He added that Sheki city school #10 named after R. Afandiyev was among the first schools in which the Ombudsman institution and the Ministry of Education successfully implemented Hierarchic Child Rights Education program.
