Representative of the Ombudsman Office participated in an online meeting dedicated to International Day for Protection of Children

An online meeting on June 1- International Day for Protection of Children was held by Child and Youth Development Center #1 in cooperation with Republic Child Library named after Firudin Kocharli and high school #95.

The online meeting was joined by representatives from Ombudsman Office, Ministry of Education, State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Khatai District Executive Authority, Nasimi and Khatai District Youth and Sport Departments, non-governmental organizations, as well as talented children with limited health capacities from schools #2, #3 and #5.

The Head of a Department of the Ombudsman Office, Faig Aghayev greeted and congratulated children, their parents and teachers wishing all the best on behalf of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Sabina Aliyeva.

He has provided information about the Ombudsman’s activities carried out for protection and promotion of children’s rights, which is an integral part of human rights, also actions taken during the pandemic period, as well as the Statement on June 1- International Day for Protection of Children.

The participants were also informed about the annual Human Rights Month-long Campaign which is currently held in the country on the initiative of the Ombudsman. It was added that  a series of events on children’s rights are held online as well.

In the course of the event, children with limited health capacities recited poems and performed songs.
