Representative of the Ombudsman Office took part in event held by Azerbaijan Autism Association

Azerbaijan Autism Association held an event dedicated to the results of the current year.  The head of Legal Awareness Unit of the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman), Mugalib Mahmudov participated in that event.

Secretary-general of the organization, Azer Allahverdiyev noted the tournaments held in cooperation with Table Tennis Federation, athleticscompetitions with Athletics Federation, bicycle competitions organized by Republic Olympic Cycling School and Azerbaijan Cycling Federation several times. He mentioned that the project on Supporting medical-social rehabilitation and socialization of children with autism through inclusive sport events was successfully implemented with support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population; the athletes of Association actively took part in all events held by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, National Paralympics Committee and Special Olympics Committee. This year the first Azerbaijani Autism Festival was held with support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

The head of the Unit of the Ombudsman Office, M.Mahmudov provided broad information about the activities carried out by the Ombudsman institution to protect and promote the rights of persons with Autism, including the proposals put forward for preparation and adoption of draft of a particular law on State care for persons with Autism; State Program on prophylaxis, treatment, rehabilitation and combating Autism; Guidelines on establishing and conducting registration of persons with Autism and other acts of such importance.
