A range of events were held on the occasion of Novruz holiday

As a tradition, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova demonstrates specific attitude with regard to vulnerable groups of population, including children and the elderly, as well as migrants on the holidays and special days, learns their needs, problems and renders assistance for resolving them.  

Within the events held on the eve of Novruz holiday, representatives of the Ombudsman Office took part at the celebrations in social service establishment in Bilgah settlement for the persons of retirement age, also in Detention Center for Illegal Migrants organized by the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, military units of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Military Naval Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Representatives of the Office gave information on the Commissioner's comprehensive activity in ensuring and protecting human rights, including the rights of the child, women and the elderly, conveyed the Ombudsman’s greetings and warm wishes to the participants on the occasion of Novruz holiday.

It should be noted that range of events were also organized by Ganja, Sheki, Jalilabad and Guba regional centers, as well as the resource centers of the  Ombudsman on the eve of the holiday.
