Events on the occasion of Azerbaijani Youth Day were held

Series of events on the occasion of the Azerbaijani Youth Day have been organized in Baku and regions by the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Elmira Suleymanova.

Such events were held by Ganja, Sheki, Jalilabad, Guba Regional Centers in Tovuz, Gabala, Mingachevir, Sheki, Jalilabad, Lankaran, Gusar rayons, Guba office and attended by staff members of state bodies, educational workers, youth members, students of higher classes and representatives of public.

Such an event was also held at the Leadership School under the Azerbaijan Child and Youth Peace Network (ACYPN), the Resource Center of the Ombudsman on Child Rights. Staff members of the Ombudsman Office, representatives of the Leadership School, children and youth, parents and teachers attended this event.

The Head of Department of the Ombudsman Office Faig Aghayev congratulated the attendees on behalf of the Commissioner, conveyed warm wishes on the occasion of that remarkable day. He informed that the 1st Youth Forum was held on February 2, 1996 with support of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and in accordance with the relevant Presidential Decree, February 2 is celebrated as the Azerbaijani Youth day.

Now the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev successfully continues this policy, which results in significant achievements on the field of child and youth policies.

It was emphasized, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva also keeps in focus the protection of children’s rights, their education, improvement of their knowledge and skills, finding out talented children.

The comprehensive activity of the Commissioner regarding human rights, including the rights of the child  and youth was highlighted.  It was pointed out that the Hierarchic Child Rights Education program on the initiative of the Ombudsman is being successfully continued jointly with the Ministry of Education in the secondary schools.

During the academic years lectures are delivered by well-known personalities, scientific, education, cultural figures of Azerbaijan to the children and youth at the Leadership School on different topics including the history, ecology, culture of our country, as well as human and child rights, patriotism, education, health, religion, healthy lifestyle and so on through interactive teaching methods.

Great attention paid to raising children and youth in the spirit of patriotism in our country, was remarked. Mubariz Ibrahimov was among these brave youth who had demonstrated  heroism and courage feelings, and on February 7 his birthday will be celebrated. It was said that he achieved immortality as engraved his name to the history in younger age, and his infinite patriotic love ascended him to the heights of martyrdom and the valor of this warrant officer was evaluated highly by the country President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as Mubariz was conferred the name of National Hero for his exceptional services in preservation of independence and territorial integrity of the country.

At the end, Mubariz Ibrahimov’s last letter to his parents was read, documentary film was displayed. 

The participants expressed their gratitude to the Ombudsman for organizing such kind of events.
