NPG monitor social facilities in regions

Ombudsman’s national preventive group members carried out planned visit to social facilities such as Guba city Special School of the Ministry of Education and Boarding School for children deprived of parental care without prior notice.

Group members checked all objects of facilities, classrooms, canteen and kitchen and leisure time and interviewed privately with children, teachers and healthcare providers and enlightened them.

During the monitoring in Special School in Guba for children in conflict with the law, it was found that the building was old, sanitary junction and the whole area needed overhaul and raising awareness of the facility staff. 

The visit ended with the recommendations given to the staff of the facility in relation to documentation, increasing support for ensuring child rights.

The ministry of education will be informed about the monitoring results.
