T. Jahangirova, the Head of the Unit on Protection of Refugees, IDPs and Migrants' Rights at Ombudsman's Office has been sent to that country to attend a number of events in the Russian Federation.
During the visit, the representative of the Commissioner took part in the international scientific-practical conference "International Law and Modern Challenges" at the Kazan Federal University, where she spoke about bilateral relations between two countries in the fields of education, culture, and policy and so on.
In the course of the meeting, she made a presentation in the Meeting of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan about tolerant policy towards stateless and foreigners existed in the country, migration flow out and into the country, national legal migration and residence procedures, Ombudsman’s work for promotion and ensuring migrants’ rights, atrocities of the Nagorno Karabakh.
In addition, the Ombudsman's representative, along with the staff of the Ombudsman Office of Tatarstan, participated in official meetings organized with the members of the National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis living in the cities of Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan.
