Ombudsman delivered speech at V Forum of Women

Ombudsman delivered a speech at V Forum of Women dedicated to centennial of the right to suffrage. The Commissioner for human rights, representatives of the President Administration, state authorities, parliamentarians, diplomatic missions, NGOs and other took part at the event.

A short video presentation was made to the participants. Topics regarding women in ecology and food safety, equality and the right to suffrage, women in economy, new perspectives and challenges, women and media were discussed at panel sessions.

Commissioner told about historical background of the right to suffrage in Azerbaijan since 1918 during the period of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as well as current policy towards women’s rights. 

Commissioner called all state bodies and non-governmental organizations to build and cooperate as global network in line with the Beijing Declaration and SDGs.

At the end of the event, Final Declaration of Forum was adopted.
