The representative of the Ombudsman Office together with members of Azerbaijan Child and Youth Peace Network attended ENOC event

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan as a member of European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) actively participates in project of European Network of Young Advisors (ENYA) this year as well. 

Specialized child rights advisor of Ombudsman, Nigar Aghayeva together with two young members of Azerbaijani Child and Youth Peace Network-resource center of Ombudsman attended the ENYA Forum “The Road to RIO-RESPECT, INFORMATION, OPINION: Exploring and empowering youth identity and relationships” held in Paris.

Young advisors Murad and Aydan presented the activities done within the framework of the project in the country and informed that young advisors panel consisting of 14-17 years children were formed, during March-June numerous meetings were held with them, group works were organized, proposals were drafted, writings of children were published in mass-media, drawings were made, surveys were conducted by children, meeting with Ombudsman and other members of the network was organized.

They shared opinions and recommendations of group members on identity and healthy relationships and presented their motto created for the ENYA 2017 RIO project which is “Let’s value, respect, trust, listen to and just feel the children!

The purpose of the meeting was discussion of the project implementation in 11 participating institutions and developing recommendations by children.

Recommendations of the children will be considered in the Statement to be adopted at 21th ENOC Annual Conference.

It should be noted that by the initiative of the Commissioner young members of the network have been involved in ENYA project launched since 2010 and attended the meetings held in different countries. Also participated in the film (about 55 min) that was placed at ENOC website.
