Within the framework of cooperation with the Police Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the lecture was delivered on “Protection Mechanisms of Human Rights” for persons studying in the faculty “The Organization of Management in the Internal Affairs Bodies”.
In the lecture delivered by Rashid Rumzada, Head of the department at the Ombudsman Office and head of the National Preventive Group participants were informed about the national and international protection mechanisms of human rights, implementation of international legislative acts, and basis of their application, current challenges and the work to be done in this regard.
He also talked about the reforms carried out in the national legislation upon the Ombudsman’s initiatives and proposals, her activity as a National Preventive Mechanism, visit paid to facilities which persons cannot leave on their will, protection of the rights of detained and arrested persons etc.
The provisions of the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman were also taught in the course.
