The next awareness events on the right to information were held in Khachmaz and Shabran districts

The Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan organized the next awareness events on the protection of the right to information in Khachmaz and Shabran districts of the country. 

The representatives of districts’s executive authorities, municipalities, law-enforcement bodies, health facilities, education departments, and other information holding state bodies took part in the event.  

The Head of the Department for Protection of the Right to Information at the Ombudsman Office, Lamiya Zeynalova, and other staff members of the respective department gave information to the participants about the Ombudsman’s mandate regarding monitoring of the implementation of the national Law on Access to Information by information-holding state bodies, municipalites, public-legal entities, and their officials. Furthermore, the participants were also informed about the duties of information-holding bodies and the rights of information requesters, as well as the existing international and national legal frameworks in the relevant field.  

Later, the presentation and videoclip related to the topic were shown, and awareness booklets and mutual discussions were held.
