Monitoring visits have been conducted to military units in Nakhchivan

In accordance with the action plan of the Ombudsman with the Ministry of Defense, the Command of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), and the Command of the Civil Defense Troops of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the employees of the Ombudsman Office visited the military units of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Separate Combined Arms Army of the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

During the visits, the headquarters, soldiers' dormitory, utility room, medical unit, canteen and other facilities were inspected. Furthermore, the staff were provided with detailed information about the powers of the Ombudsman and her activities in the field of protection of the rights of military personnel, forms of application to the Ombudsman and the "916" Call Center, and relevant information boards were presented to the commanders of military units for placement in places convenient for the personnel.

During the visits, meetings were held with the personnel of the military units, including civilian employees working in the units. Their questions were addressed, and individual military personnel and civilians who wished to make personal appeals were listened to, and their applications were received.

Relevant recommendations were provided to the heads of the respective institutions to strengthen the organization of military service in accordance with the regulations.

The presence of service apartments designated for military personnel of the inspected units in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a kindergarten for the children of married military personnel at Military Unit No. [N] of the Separate Combined Arms Army, recreational centers for personnel in the military units of the Separate Combined Arms Army, as well as the existence of a full secondary school for the Nakhchivan Garrison and the establishment of a special obstacle course at the military unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in Nakhchivan city, were positively evaluated.
