A debate forum was held within the Project “Protection of children from harmful and dangerous information in digital society”

A debate forum was held within the project “Protection of children from harmful and dangerous information in digital society” in collaboration with the “Regional Development” PU, “NAR”, the Ombudsman, the Ministry of Science and Education, the State Committee on Family, Women and Child Affairs, the ADA University, and the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (ACOA).  

Having emphasized the importance of the project in her opening speech, Nigar Aghayeva, Head of the Child Rights Protection Unit at the Ombudsman Office, she also spoke about the role of the Ombudsman in the protection of the rights of children and in digital society. 

While moderating the event, Azer Isali, Chief Adviser in the Child Rights Protection Unit, informed the participants about the current threats, the existing preventive methods and legal frameworks, as well as provided advice to children and their parents on how to ensure cybersecurity.   

Discussions were held around topics related to “Parents and children’s personal information protection,” “Tips for online safety,” “Cyberbullyng,” and “Ways to prevent cyber attacks.” 

At the end of the event, children and parents, who have actively participated in discussions run by the partner authorities about how children can safely and usefully spend time on the internet, have been awarded in various nominations.
