A staff member of the Ombudsman Office participated in the event on 'Human Rights and Civil Society'

A roundtable discussion on "Human Rights and Civil Society" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was organized by the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum.

During the event, Mahir Mammadov, the head of the Unit of the Department for Cooperation with International and Civil Society Organizations of the Ombudsman Office of Azerbaijan, spoke about the Ombudsman’s multifaceted activities in ensuring human and citizens’ rights and freedoms. It was noted that effective cooperation has been established between the Ombudsman Institution, state bodies, and civil society organizations.

It was also noted that with the return of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to power in Azerbaijan, consecutive, purposeful, and forward-looking reforms have been started to establish a legal state. Consequently, significant developments have been made in terms of ensuring human rights and freedoms.

At the end of the event, the questions of the participants were answered.
