Activities of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan in the protection of environmental rights were discussed in the international conference

Aydin Safikhanli, Head of the Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, participated in the international conference on the topic "Clean, healthy and sustainable environment - a guarantee of ensuring human rights" dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Ombudsman Institution of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The head of the Office delivered a speech at the event on the topic "The role of NHRİs in ensuring environmental rights." He stated that the Ombudsman constantly keeps an eye on the protection of environmental rights in its activities. Information about undetaken relevant actions was provided.

In addition, it was said that COP29, which was hosted by Azerbaijan, achieved several successful results, and important decisions were made in the field of combating climate change. It was also brought to attention that, on the initiative of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, the International Baku Forum of Ombudsmen and interactive discussions on the topic "Climate justice-based human rights: the role of NHRIs" were also organized on the eve of COP29.
