The Reaction of Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva in response to the last Statement of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe

The last statement of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) on Khankendi-Lachin road, which is not based on the truth, creates concern.

We invite the CoE Secretary General to refrain from making such statements without getting to the heart of the matter.

We consider that making statements of this kind, which do not reflect the truth, increases the tension in the region and hinders the peace process.

We would also like to draw the attention of the CoE Secretary General once again to the problem of landmines planted by Armenia during the occupation in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. This problem is delaying the safe return of hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their lands for almost 30 years.
