
The South Regional Center of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, in coooperation with the Masalli Museum of History and Local Folklore and the central library of the district, held an educational event, entitled “Azerbaijan as a guarantor of the protection of human rights.”
The Head of the Regional Center, Ziya Ismayilov, noted in his speech that the Constitution of Azerbaijan, which was adopted on 12 November 1995, provides for a wide range of human rights and freedoms, thus facilitating extensive legislative and institutional reforms in the country.
Furthermore, the participants were informed about Ombudsman's activities in the field of the protection of human rights and freedoms, about the new mandate conferred to the Commissioner in accordance with the last amendments to the Constitutional Law, and educational materials were presented to the participants, and the questions raised were answered.
