The Ombudsman's National Preventive Group continues to visit state-owned children's institutions

Members of the National Preventive Group (NPG) implemented a follow-up visit to child-care institution No. 3 of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population within the Ombudsman’s national preventive mechanism (NPM) mandate.

The object of the visit, which was organized in compliance with the requirements of the OPCAT and the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman and the Law of the Republic “On the Rights of the Child,” was to follow up on the state of ensuring the rights of children of different ages, eliminating the previously found shortfalls, and the implementation status of given recommendations. 

During the visit, all facilities of the social-care institution were inspected, and the current state relating to the organization of social services and documentation were checked. Private talks were held with the management and staff of the facility, along with the minor residents, in order to investigate the treatment issues.      

At the end of the visit, legal awareness talks were held with the management of the facility, and proposed recommendations for addressing the issues that can be resolved immediately.
