The Regional Centers of the Ombudsman organized a number of legal awareness events to mark 1 June – International Day for the Protection of Children

During “Human Rights Month,” the North, South, Northwest, and West Regional Centers of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan organized legal awareness events to mark 1 June - International Day for the Protection of Children-in Siyazan, Guba, Salyan, Sheki, Mingachevir, and Ganja. 

At the events, it was emphasized that protecting children’s rights was one of the key activity directions of the Ombudsman; the information about works done and the regulatory normson the rights of the children embedded in domestic and international law was provided. 

In addition, the attendees were informed about the expansion of the Ombudsman’s mandate according to the last amendments made to the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman in the field of protection of children’s rights and other fields. The questions raised were answered.
