The Ombudsman participated in the event entitled “Voices Consigned to Silence”

Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsperson participated in the event entitled “Voices consigned to silence” hosted by the House Museum of Huseyn Javid during Human Rights Month.

In her opening speech, the Ombudsperson noted that Huseyn Javid was one of the outstanding writers and playwrights in the literature of Azerbaijan.

The Ombudsman emphasized the importance of the transportation of the body of the writer Huseyn Javid, who was a victim of repressions,  to bury in his native land -- Nakhchivan at the initiative of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

S. Aliyeva also stressed that the Return Concept, which was adopted in order to restore the violated fundamental rights of our compatriots exiled from their ancestral lands, is clear evidence of the high value that President Ilham Aliyev places on the protection of human rights, as well as the defence of the rightful voices of Huseyn Javid, who was subjected to repressions for the truth and thousands of our compatriots like him.

Meanwhile, the Ombudsperson, Sabina Aliyeva, was presented a book entitled “The epistolary legacy of Huseyn Javid”.
