The Representatives of the Ombudsman held a Meeting with the Citizens Repatriated from Syria

The repatriation of our citizens living in difficult situation abroad and the protection of their rights and freedoms remain under the attention of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman), Sabina Aliyeva. 

Another 13 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including 9 children, have been repatriated from the Syrian Arab Republic to our country.

The Ombudsman’s representatives met with those repatriates, who are placed in the social service institution of the Social Service Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, to learn the situation of ensuring their rights. Also, the conversation was held with the management and employees, and information about measures undertaken in the field of rehabilitation of repatriates and scheduled events was provided.   

In the course of the meeting, the living conditions, psychological state and needs of the repatriates were checked; and recommendations were made for the protection of their rights and exercise of relevant social, health, education, employment, and other state services.
