An event for schoolchildren in Guba District was held within the Project “Shine with your rights”

An educational event was held in the Guba district within the Project “Shine with your rights,” co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Parliament, the Omudsman Office, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs, the “Regional Development” Public Union, the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health, and the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan, and financed by the “NAR” company. The event was held for schoolchildren. 

The purpose of the project was to increase children's awareness of their rights and citizens responsibility to contribute to improving their legal education. 

Azer Isali, Senior Adviser in the Child Rights Protection Unit of the Ombudsman Office, has run the course as a trainer. During his presentation, he informed children of the Ombudsman’s activities in the field of the protection of children’s rights, rights and duties of minors, their protection from violence, digital hazards they may face and existing relevant protection mechanisms in these cases, law violations and their consequences, and current legislative acts regulating this field. The questions of children were answered.   

Furthermore, the representatives of several state authorities and civil society organizations also spoke about the rights of children. 

At the end of the event, an intellectual competition for schoolchildren was held through the “Kahoot” platform. The winning team was awarded a prize, and all participants were awarded certificates.
