The Human Rights Commissioner of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, participated in a seminar on "Human Rights and Right to Equality" held in Ankara, Türkiye, at the invitation of Muharrem Kılıç, Chairman of the Turkish Human Rights and Equality Institution (TIHEK).
Speaking at the seminar, Sabina Aliyeva provided extensive information on the activities carried out in Azerbaijan to protect human rights and freedoms, including ensuring the right to equality and combating discrimination, and brought to the attention of the participants the positive work experience of the Ombudsman in this area.
The Ombudsman expressed her satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation with TIHEK, noting that this cooperation is important for improving the activities of both institutions in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms.
The Ombudsman emphasized the importance of involving young people in the process of building a more just, equal and sensitive society, and noted that the organized seminar is of great importance in this direction.
During the seminar, speeches were also heard on the basic concepts of human rights, the principle of equality, combating discrimination, the prohibition of torture and ill-treatment, and national and international experience in these areas.
At the end of the seminar, the participants were presented certificates, and Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva wished the young people success in their future endevors.
