Within an independent monitoring mechanism (IMM) mandate for monitoring and promotion of ensuring equality and preventing discrimination empowered to the Ombudsman according to the latest amendments made to the Constitutional Law on the Ombudsman, the representatives of the Equality Unit of the Ombudsman Office conducted monitoring in Yevlakh and Khachmaz districts, where the Roma community was densely populated in our country.
During the monitoring, individual meetings were held with community members and their concerns were learned.
The corresponding recommendations to be prepared and submitted to the competent authorities with the purpose of eliminating the difficulties of the Roma people identified as a result of the monitoring and to ensure effective protection of their rights and freedoms.
