Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva received the ambassador of Türkiye to our country

The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to our country, Birol Akgul.

During the meeting, the Ombudsman gave the guest extensive information about the reforms implemented in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms in our country.

Emphasizing the importance of studying positive experiences in the field of human rights, the Commissioner spoke about the effective cooperation relations with the Ombudsman and national human rights institutions of foreign countries, as well as international organizations.

Sabina Aliyeva noted that comprehensive relations with the fraternal country are at the level of strategic partnership, as well as effective cooperation relations have been established with the relevant institutions of Türkiye in the field of human rights (The Ombudsman Institution of Türkiye, Human Rights and Equality Institution of Türkiye), bilateral memorandums of understanding have been signed, joint projects have been implemented, and she emphasized the importance of further developing this cooperation.

At the same time, successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the framework of international organizations was also touched upon in the meeting. It was noted that the two fraternal states always mutually support each other in international organizations and events held at the international level.

Birol Akgun, the ambassador of Türkiye to our country, thanked for the warm reception and pointed out that he will spare no efforts to further strengthen the existing alliance relations during his activity as the ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, a number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed and the questions of the guest were answered.
