The Protection of the Rights of Two Toddlers Who Were Subjected to Physical Violence in Aghdam District Is Under the Ombudsman’s Scrutiny

We have to note that since the moment information was published in media regarding the hospitalization of two toddlers allegedly beaten by their father in the Aghdam District, the Ombudsman Office has been investigating the matter, and the condition of the children is being closely monitored.  

Currently, the child (b. 2023) is under medical control in the Aghdam District Central Hospital, whereas, another one (b.2024) underwent surgery in the Republican Neurosurgery Hospital, and his health condition is critical. 

The Ombudsman institution sent inquiries to the Ministry of Interior and the Aghdam District Executive Authority of Azerbaijan regarding this issue.  

At present, we are focused on the issues of safeguarding the rights of these children, protecting them from violence, and legally assessing parents' actions in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
