Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, who is on an official visit to China to participate in the Asian Ombudsman Association’s (AOA) annual meetings as vice president of the organization, held a meeting with the leadership of the China National Supervisory Commission (NSC) at the invitation of the commission.
Liu Xuexin, Deputy Secretary of China’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and Deputy Director of NSC, Mu Hongyu, Standing Committee Member, and the leaders of the Commission took part in the meeting.
The existing strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and China was highly appreciated, and it was emphasized that there are broad opportunities for further development. During the meeting, the parties have discussed areas of joint cooperation and exchanged broad information on the activities carried out in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms, as well as the positive experiences.
Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, stating that for bilateral and multilateral cooperation broad opportunities exist, also said that the dialogue between the two institutions will serve for their further development and that mutual exchange of information, good experiences, and joint awareness-raising activities will make significant contributions to the more effective protection of human rights.
The importance of strengthening regional cooperation within the AOA framework, exchanging positive experiences of human rights protection, and implementing joint projects was also noted at the meeting.
