The Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva had a meeting  with Akos Kozma,   a judge of the Hungarian Constitutional Court

Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights of Azerbaijan, had a meeting with a newly appointed judge of the Hungarian Constitutional Court, Akos Kozma. 

At the meeting, firstly, the Ombudsperson, Sabina Aliyeva, congratulated her former colleague, now a judge of the Constitutional Court of Hungary, upon his new appointment and wished him success in his future activities. 

The Ombudsperson noted that there are very friendly and brotherly relations between the states and peoples of Azerbaijan and Hungary.

Sabina Aliyeva provided information about her mandate of human rights and freedoms as an Ombudsman, new competences given by the Constitutional Law, along with the existing close cooperation between the Ombudsperson’s Office and the Constitutional Court.   

Speaking about the policy of occupation of Armenia against Azerbaijan, the Ombudsperson brought to the attention of the guest the existing lack of information about the fate of our about 4,000 compatriots who went missing during the First Karabakh War, the investigation into the personal data of those missing people carried out by our country by its own efforts, as well as actions taken to identify those compatriots who have been massivle buried.    

The guest was also informed about the mine terror committed by Armenia in our liberated territories, the serious threats that existing landmines impose on the rights of human beings to live in safety and impediments to the return of former IDPs to their native lands and reconstruction works being implemented in the region. 

In his turn, Akos Kozma, a judge of the Hungarian Constitutional Court, thanked the Ombudsperson, Sabina Aliyeva, for the warm reception.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the issues of common interest.
