An event was held at the Correctional Facility of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice during the "Child Rights Month"

During the "Child Rights Month" initiated by the Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsman's National Preventive Group (NPG) visited the Correctional Facility of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan to hold an educational event. 

At the event, organized to educate young offenders about their rights and responsibilities, the NPG members provided an overview based on international and national regulatory frameworks. The NPG members also provided the juveniles relevant recommendations and answered their questions.

The underage inmates were privately interviewed by the medical doctor and social worker members of the Group to hear their concerns, explained to them their rights and obligations stipulated in the legislation, and also informed about the Ombudsman's 24-hour "916" Call Center.
