During the "Child Rights Month" announced by the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, a training session was conducted for the junior teams and coaches of the Neftçi Professional FC. The training focused on the topic of "Child Rights Protection and Promoting a Safe Sports Environment."
As a trainee, Azer İsalı, junior adviser of the Child Rights Protection Unit, provided extensive insights on several key topics, including the protection of child rights in sports environments, ethical behavior in coach-athlete relationships, preventing violence among children, and the importance of creating a safe and healthy sports atmosphere.
The training also included practical examples of real-life situations where child rights could potentially be violated in sports. Participants were guided on how to respond appropriately in such cases, emphasizing the importance of responsible behavior. Aside from this, the role of the “fair play” principles in football was thoroughly discussed, along with the various legal protection mechanisms available for safeguarding children's rights in sports.
At the end, the young athletes had an opportunity to share their thoughts on the topic. Their questions were answered, and an interactive discussion was held.
