Owing to Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, the Thalassemia Center provides patients continuous treatment in the center, and reliable access to blood and its components, enabling them to return to their normal way of life.
Azerbaijan’s Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva has repeatedly drawn public attention to the need for healthy blood donations for children suffering from blood disorders, including thalassemia, and blood donation campaigns have been held on various occasions.
The next blood donation campaign was held at the Ombudsman Office on December 5 as part of the ‘Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty.
The Ombudsman stated that such campaigns can help save the lives of hundreds of patients and strengthen public solidarity and humanitarian values. She called on all healthy and eligible individuals to actively participate.
