At the initiative of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, Sabina Aliyeva, another training on "Protection of the Right to Access Information" was held at Baku DOST Center No. 5 for managerial staff of the State Labor Inspectorate Service and its regional departments under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan.
The training was run by Lamiya Zeynalova, Head, and other employees of the Department for the Protection of the Right to Information of the Ombudsman Office. They emphasized ensuring the right to information is important in terms of increasing transparency, accountability, and citizen satisfaction in public administration.
Furthermore, the participants were provided with insights on the responsibilities of information owners, the information request, its execution period and reasons for refusal, and the features of considering complaints regarding violations of the right to access information, as well as the powers of the Ombudsman to draw up relevant protocols.
The interactive training included discussions on the topic, and participants' questions were answered in detail.
At the end of the training, educational printed materials prepared by the Ombudsman Office on the right to access information were presented to the participants.
