The staff members of the Ombudsman Office interested in the care and social security of the elderly

Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, constantly focuses on the protection of and ensuring rights for vulnerable population groups, including the elderly.

During the "Human Rights Month" announced by the Ombudsman in the country, the staff members of the Office visited the social service institution for the elderly under the Social Service Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan and had meetings with the elderly.

During the meeting, it was specifically noted that in the current year, the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev coincides with the "Human Rights Month". It was also touched upon the significant qualities that characterized the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev as a prominent figure and a compassionate human being and emphasized his deep respect, attention, and care for the elderly.

During the meeting, the residents of the social service institution expressed their admiration for the exceptional services rendered by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to our nation and state, his tremendous efforts for the overall development and future progress of Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982, and the radical reforms implemented across all areas of the country during that period, and shared their memories related to those times.

Later, the living spaces for the elderly were monitored, and their concerns and social welfare were interested in. Individual meetings were organized with the residents to identify and address situations that worsen their quality of life, exacerbate their social-psychological conditions, and contribute to their isolation from society, and ensure the increasing level of social service provision to those in need. In addition, suggestions and requests regarding the effective organization of the leisure time for older persons were listened to, and their requests were received.

At the end, the Ombudsman’s best wishes were conveyed the residents of the institution, emphasizing that their well-being and care are always a priority, and gifts were presented to them.
