A range of events about the role of mediation in the resolution of disputes were held at secondary schools No. 62 School-lyceum, No. 117 named after Sabir Abbasov and No. 124 named after Fuzuli Gozalov, located in Baku. The Ministry of Science and Education and the Council of Mediation supported these events.
The events were attended by the Mediation Council, the Baku City Education Department, the administration of the relevant secondary schools, teachers and pupils. The events were run by the staff members of the Ombudsman institution, Azer Isali and Ilaha Afganli. The information about the Ombudsman’s activities regarding the protection of children from violence, combating bullying, the use of preventive and suportive mechanisms in educational facilities, the promotion of healthy communication among children, and the other issues in relation to the effective protection of children’s rights was provided.
The recommendations made were also brought to the attention of the participants.
A presentation ceremony of the guide “Peer to Peer Mediation: Guide to Peace and Dialogue” was organized. The discussions around the topic were held, where the questions raised by the participants were answered.
