A legal awareness-raising training on “Ensuring the Right to Equality and Combating Discrimination" was conducted

The Ombudsman’s West Regional Centre and the Regional Development Public Union (RDPU) organized a joint training on “Ensuring the Right to Equality and Combating Discrimination”.

Head of the Regional Center, Sabuhi Abbasov, comprehensively spoke about legal norms in international law and the national legislation, prohibiting discrimination and protecting the right to equality, as well as on the related protection mechanisms. He also noted that promoting non-discrimination and equality is one of the main areas of activity of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan.

During the training, participants were informed about the Ombudsman’s “916” Call Centre, their questions were answered, and awareness-raising publications on combating discrimination were distributed to them.
