On the occasion of February 11 – International Day of Women and Girls in Science, an event was held at the Yeni Qızılja village secondary school in Goygol district for teachers and students and employees of the Goygol district Education Department.
Sabuhi Abbasov, Head of the Ombudsman’s West Regional Center, informed the participants of the activities carried out by the Ombudsman in the protection of women’s rights and the promotion of gender equality, highlighting the necessity of women’s active participation in public life and scientific activities, as well as encouraging them to engage in science.
They also discussed the negative social, public, and legal consequences of early marriages, noting that the Ombudsman consistently keeps these issues under attention, particularly in the rural areas. The participants were also informed about the Ombudsman’s '916' call center, and their questions were answered.
