An exchange of experience was organized for the Slovak Ombudsman and his delegation within the national preventive mechanism activities

Within the framework of the National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) activities of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, the delegation led by the Slovak Ombudsman, Mr. Róbert Dobrovodský, who is on an official visit to the country at the invitation of the Azerbaijani Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, visited the Baku Pre-trial Detention Facility of the Penitentiary Service under the Ministry of Justice, as well as the Baku Temporary Accommodation Center of the State Migration Service to get familiarized with the created conditions to exchange experiences.

During the visit to the Baku Pre-trial Detention Facility, which took place with the participation of the members of the National Preventive Group, the delegation members were provided with comprehensive information on the functioning of the facility. The cells, medical and sanitary unit, library, and other facilities were inspected.

The premises of the Baku Temporary Accommodation Center, including the accommodation facilities, medical unit, canteen, and other areas, were also visited and monitored. 

At the conclusion, a comparative discussion was held on the national legislation of the two countries and the applicable international legal framework.
