The officials of the State Social Protection Fund were engaged in the next training session regarding the protection of the right of access to information

At the initiative of Sabina Aliyeva, the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan, another training session on the topic of “Protection of the Right of Access to Information” was held at Baku DOST Center No. 5. The training was aimed at increasing professional capacity building of department heads of the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, as well as for the heads of the Fund’s institutions located in Baku.

During the training, Lamiya Zeynalova, Head of the Department for the Protection of the Right to Access Information, informed the trainees about international and national laws protecting the right to information and the responsibilities of state bodies and other information holders prescribed by the laws.

Staff members of the Ombudsman Office also informed participants about the Ombudsman’s oversight functions in ensuring that information holders fulfill their obligations arising from the Law “On Access to Information” and the Ombudsman’s authority to draw up administration protocols if the laws were violated.

During the event, an informative video prepared on the topic was presented, and a presentation was delivered on educational printed materials and methodological guidelines promoting the right of access to information.

At the end, questions of participants on the topic were answered.
