The Ombudsman Office held a commemorative event on the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva and the staff visited the bust erected at the Government House to immortalize the dear memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and laid a wreath in front of the bust.
In her speech, the Ombudsman noted that the return to power of the architect of the independent Azerbaijani state, National Leader Heydar Aliyev, at the persistent call of the people, led to the restoration of political and social stability in Azerbaijan. She further emphasized that this period laid the foundation for the policy course successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and paved the way for the implementation of comprehensive reforms aimed at the country’s sustainable and all-round development.
The Ombudsman spoke about the significant achievements accomplished under the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the establishment and development of the independent Azerbaijani state, as well as in all spheres, including the promotion and protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens. She also highlighted the steps taken to convey Azerbaijan’s just voice to the international community through prestigious international platforms.
Sabina Aliyeva noted that, upon the initiative of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, important institutions in the field of human rights protection, including the Ombudsman institution of Azerbaijan, were established in the country.
Subsequently, an employee of the Ombudsman Office, Araz Asgarli, delivered a presentation on the saviour mission of the Great Leader before the Azerbaijani people.
Employees of the Ombudsman Office familiarised themselves with photos reflecting various stages of the rich life and legacy of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as with a special exhibition stand dedicated to his memory.
