During the 'Human Rights Month' declared by the Ombudsman, Sabina Aliyeva, a training entitled 'Protection of Children's Rights: Protection Against Discrimination and Promotion of Equality' was conducted for students and teaching staff at Baku general secondary school No. 282 named after Nadir Aliyev.
As the trainer, Azer Isali, Senior Advisor of the Child Rights Protection Unit, spoke of the importance of the protection of child rights, the promotion of the principles of equality and mutual respect, non-discrimination, and the essence and consequences of human rights violations.
Furthermore, during the training, discussions were conducted based on case-based examples of discriminatory practices; the participants' views on the subject were heard; and detailed information was provided on the protection of children's rights, and the promotion of equality, as well as the Ombudsman's areas of activity in the field of child rights protection.
At the end of the training, students’ questions were answered, and educational publications on child rights protection produced by the Ombudsman Office were presented to the educational institution.
