Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan Elected as a Member to ICIC Executive Committee

The 17th International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC 17) was held in Freetown, Sierra Leone, under the theme "Upholding Information Integrity in the Digital Age: The Role of Access to Information in Addressing Information Disorder."

During the conference, the new ICIC Executive Committee members for 2026–2029 was approved. The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan was elected as a member of the Executive Committee.

Notably, the Azerbaijan Ombudsman Institution has been a full member of the ICIC since 2023.

In accordance with national legislation, the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan conducts extensive activities to promote, protect, and enforce the right of access to information, including legal awareness campaigns, institutional monitoring, and analytical studies in this field.
